Is Now A Good Time to Start Investing in Stocks an Is Now A Good Time to Start Investing in Stocks and Shares? I don't think there is a perfect time. The best time is now. Because:- 1) The longer you wait the less time you have to allow it to grow 2) If you're buying great businesses and you're getting it at a great price, then the timing is always good 3) until you start investing, you won't make any money and you are watching time slip away. and its the time that the key. the reason Warren Buffet is worth £150bn isn't because he's the worlds best stock picker. It's because he's had 60 years of compounded growth.

I've just finished recording Episode 116 of the Podcast. I reached my lowest weight i've ever been and hit to -40lbs lost mark. That's 18kg which is madness when you think about it. Imagine just grabbing 18 bags of sugar and that's what you used to just carry around with you every day. When I meet someone who says they're into self dev When I meet someone who says they're into self development, I always enquire as to what specifically they're working on. Self Development isn't just reading a book about sleeping better, or eating cleaner. It's not listening to a podcast either. Self Development is doing the actual work. For instance, for years I had found myself too senstive to criticism. I don't know why. But when confronted with someone who I felt was laying into me or attacking me, I would react like a boy. Not a man. I would reduce my time around that person, get butt hurt, and my inner voice would say "you don't need this drama in your life, walk away". Eventually, I learned I had the wrong idea. Instead of reacting the way I did, I needed to step forward into it all. To be a better leader and a better man. To recognise that the criticism was often coming from a place of anxiety. Often unwarranted, misplaced anxiety, but anxiety nonetheless. They weren't attacking me, they were fearful. Worried. Anxious. And what they needed was a leader. A man who could see past all that and step up into that space, provide reassurance and show that there was nothing to worry about. That's true leadership. To be self assured enough that you recognise it's not an attack on you. Instead, it's a metaphoric flare being fired into the sky that says, i've got anxiety around this and need your help. It's not easy to change how you think in situations. It's always a work in progress. But that's true self development. Doing the actual work. Whenever I see anyone trying to fix an aspect of themselves, so that they can show up as a better human being, I see someone who truly wants to add more value in the world. And I genuinely respect that. 👊🏻💪🏻👏🏻
I live alone. So when they come over for the weeke I live alone. So when they come over for the weekend they naturally inject life into the place. We've done the hugs and the brief updates I get about school life. The girls are now playing Roblox online with their mates. The eldest is watching guitar videos and the little one is watching Star Wars. And I now have my feet up with a well deserved coffee after a busy week. Happy Weekend everyone!

My Stocks & Shares ISA fell in organic value by -0 My Stocks & Shares ISA fell in organic value by -0.9% in November 2024. But rose in overall value to £44k due to my additional monthly deposits. I've received £1280 in Dividends so far for 2024 which is progress following last years £933. As it stands, we are well on course to make it to the million over the next 16 years although there's a good chance i'll get there much earlier. Personal Portfolio My monthly breakdown of everything I have bought, sold, what dividends i've had and provides a transparent view of my investments. In the podcast this week we discussed the reason w In the podcast this week we discussed the reason why investors panic when prices go down, and more importantly, how to stop feeling that way. It's all well and good saying "dont get stressed with your investing" but thats just words. It doesn't actually help. Better to understand why you feel that way. And usually, the reason you panic is because you self doubt your decision when the price drops. As if the price dropping over the next week is your primary measure of your accuracy in stock selection. But its not. Price is fickle. It rises and falls every day over the most stupid things. Its chaotic. Unpredictable. Its noise. What took the stress out of investing for me was understanding the ebbs and flows of the market do not reflect the quality of my investment decisions. Knowing the investment well, should lead to you feeling 10x better about the long term expectations of that stock. You bought at £20 and it was worth £24? Great deal! Its down to £16 today? Well, are they suddenly now a bad company? Has everything you thought about their future suddenly changed? Are results suddenly poor in the business? Because if it's still the same company doing grest things then £16 is just another opportunity. When prices fall, my inbox gets busy. Everyone wan When prices fall, my inbox gets busy. Everyone wants to know "why". Beats me. I don't know! I don't need to know either. What value does knowing 'why' provide anyway? I encourage every investor to make a point of studying historical markets. Historical price moves. It's a sobering experience. Much like when Carl Sagan said Astronomy was a humbling experience because you suddenly realise man's true insignificance amongst the stars. Prices rise and fall like the waves in an ocean. We are simply here for the ride. We're not trying to predict the next wave. We are just enjoying it. Knowing that over time, it will go up. Because we've picked good growing businesses to invest into. Getting upset over prices falling over the last week was a complete waste of anyone's energy, because they're back up now. That emotional rollercoaster bores me. It's not healthy. It's not necessary to your success. Today i've spent the day catching up on XPP, RKT, Today i've spent the day catching up on XPP, RKT, HLN and NYSE: ETR. None of whom are showing any signs of making their way onto my watchlist unfortunately. But it's important to know this stuff for a few reasons:- 1) I know not to waste any more time on these stocks, at least in the near term. And time is scarce for me right now. 2) When our members ask me about these stocks i'll be able to provide accurate and useful information about 'why' we don't like them for our list. 3) It helps us keep our ear to the ground should any events happen. It's always more exciting when we do find a company we like, but 95% of stocks I analyse are not what we are looking for. YT is amazing isn't it. You can almost learn anyth YT is amazing isn't it. You can almost learn anything you want to know nowadays. I remember when I first started making videos and uploading in 2012. Some 12 years ago now. Back then, it was just becoming something useful, but was still filled with "hi, this is my cat Geoffrey" videos. Today, people from all around the world, are sharing their expertise and skills with other people all over the earth for free. Of course, if you want to go deeper, you'll probably have to find a proper trainer. But for surface level stuff, and even in some cases the more advanced stuff, its amazing. Today, there's really no excuse for not knowing how to change a tyre, or reformat your hard drive, or fix your leaky tap. Want to learn how to grow veggies? Want to know how to land a plane? Invest in stocks? Play guitar? It's all there. This weekend, I have been mostly learning how to code. I have a few investment related ideas I have been wanting to explore for years. And time and time again, I come against the fact I can't code. And it keeps happening. So I thought...sod it. Lets sit down and start. And in a years time, maybe i'll be able to finally build the stuff I want to see in the world. And so I am. Today I wrote my first ever computer code. And right now i'm building a functional calculator application. Its so cool. Yesterday, I didn't even know how to write one line of code. 🤷🏻‍♂️ What a great time to be alive!!! 2025 will be the year I released my first album on Spotify, reached my first £50k in investments (hopefully) and learned how to code. Amazing!

The Stocks & Shares ISA has reached £44k as of th The Stocks & Shares ISA has reached £44k as of this week. Last month I poured £2k into my ISA and watched as it fell £2k in the following days after. Some might say that was awful luck. Or money down the drain. But this is a scarcity mindset that I don't possess. I bought shares (income producing assets) with that money. And I know that over the long term they'll be worth a lot more than what I paid for them. They'll also produce dividends along the way. So I have no concerns about this whatsoever. That £2k will probably be worth tens of thousands to me in 20 years time. Maybe even hundreds of thousands one day. So it's money very well spent in my eyes. I remember buying thousands in stock before the lockdowns. I saw them all fall 35% in value just months later. But roll on another year and they had not only recovered their pre-crash value, but I was now making big profits on them. When you adopt a long term mindset and a long term view of investing, you cant be getting emotional over a 2-3% drop in portfolio value. I think that the podcast is doing well because we I think that the podcast is doing well because we focus on facts. It's utterly pointless sharing what I "think" might happen on the stockmarket. Because:- 1) I don't know 2) As a result of 1, my opinion adds no value to you What does add value is the facts of a situation. - Is the stock profitable, if so, by how much? - Are sales improving? - Are they taking on too much debt relative to profits? - Is the price right relative to underlying value? Less opinion, more focus on facts. This past October 2024 the value of my Stocks & Sh This past October 2024 the value of my Stocks & Shares ISA portfolio fell by -£1,194 before additional deposits. A decline of -2.8%. However, the value of the portfolio rose due to my deposits of £2000 over the course of the month. I'm well under my yearly threshold, so i'm able to pump a bit more in than the usual £1666 limit. I'm still well ahead of schedule to reach my million £ target. Which is amazing considering the markets have not been kind the past 5 years.
